  1. Temp and O2 sat on R/A q6H

  1. O2 via NP to keep O2 sat > 90% (unless COPD)
  1. Call MD if O2 Sat on Room Air < 90%
  1. CBC, electrolytes, creatinine, urea, Mg, Ca, albumin, AST, ALT, ALP, bilirubin, LDH, CK daily X 3 then reassess (results must be back before 11AM)
  1. HbA1C with bloodwork in morning
  1. CXR if change in condition (must be done before 11AM)

      11.  Acetaminophen 650 mg PO q6H PRN

      12.  Dimenhydrinate 25 – 50 mg PO or IV q6H PRN

15.  Dextromethorphan 5-10mL (15-30mg) PO q6h PRN for cough

16.  Lorazepam 0.5 – 1 mg SL qhs PRN

17.  Is patient allergic to penicillins or cephalosporins?

  1.  Antibiotics to be ordered?
  2.  Azithromycin 500mg PO q24h X 5 days (IV if cannot tolerate PO)
  3. Ceftriaxone 1 g IV q24H if NOT allergic to penicillins or

      cephalosporins

  1. Levofloxacin 500 mg IV q24h if allergic to penicillins or

      cephalosporins

      19. Ribavirin ordered? if yes, see ribavirin orders (separate sheet)

      20. Infection control to see patient

      21. Public health nurse to see patient

      22. SARS Infectious Diseases consultant to see patient

22.  If not done in ER, ensure NP, urine and stool for SARS

     Coronavirus PCR done – use Sunnybrook SARS Coronavirus 

     PCR requisition and send to microbiology
